As Earnings Tracker is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database management system, you will need to install it on a web server. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will probably support PHP and MySQL, and so you can install Earnings Tracker on their web server if you want to.
Alternatively, you might want to install Earnings Tracker on a web server running on your own computer. If this is the case, and you are running Microsoft Windows, you can download a great web server environment (Apache, MySQL, and PHP) from http://www.en.wampserver.com/. At John Dixon Technology Ltd we have been using wampserver as our development environment since 2005 and would thoroughly recommend it.
If you are running Linux, web server components are available as part of the Linux distribution. Refer to your Linux documentation for instructions on how to install and configure a web server on a Linux machine. If you need help, try going to http://www.reallylinux.com/
